Woke up this morning to the announcement on the PA system “Welcome to Antarctica”.
I got ready as quickly as I could, had bite to eat and headed out on the deck where I would spend the majority of my day.
Our travels based around the Gerlache Straight and Paradise Bay today where we saw lots of icebergs, a few humpback whales and a handful of penguins.
I’ll let the photos do most of the talking today though.
I saw a few whales in the morning, unfortunately I was unable to catch the tail slap on camera.
Would occasionally see flocks of penguins swimming but they move so fast it was nearly impossible to get on camera.
Then there was the mass of penguins on this island that only those with telephoto lenses or binoculars were fortunate enough to see.
And the absolutely breathtaking Paradise Bay.
