Happy to say we have safely arrived in Buenos Aires where it is a lovely 23 degrees C!
Hard to believe that less than 24 hours ago I was in the snowy London Ontario, at a chilling -10 C.
We arrived at the London Airport yesterday at about 6pm, and were bumped up to an earlier flight because there was plenty of room and it doesn’t hurt to have some extra time before our flight in Toronto.
In Toronto I passed away the time playing games on the provided iPads in the International Terminal. I was skilled enough to have won 6 apples, each hand delivered to my seat. We found this quite comedic as the servers brought them with the utmost finesse. The apples provided us with a few nice snacks throughout our flight.
The flight though was, well, I guess it’s safe to say I felt like I was at home. They downsized the aircraft leading to the flight being overbooked by 20 in Toronto and 56 in Santiago. This led to a bit of chaos before the flight, of which I will admit I found mildly entertaining. Lots of seat shuffling took place and I soon found a couple children, around the age of 10, sitting beside me.
It was a little awkward at moments as the child beside me kept falling asleep on my arm. Each time he would eventually wake up and scare the crap out of himself when he realized I was not his parent. When he wasn’t falling asleep on me he would try to use my knee as a footrest.
Much to my surprise though I actually slept on the flight. Not much, maybe 3 hours total, but regardless I slept on a plane for the first time thanks to the miracle of melatonin.
We made a quick stop in Santiago, Chile to exchange some passengers and then had a quick flight to Buenos Aires, Argentina.
When we got to Buenos Aires we checked into the hotel and enjoyed dinner at a local pizzeria down the street. The pizzas were pretty unique in style, I had one with spinach, creamy sauce and more cheese than I’ve ever seen on a pizza.
Looking forward to a solid night’s sleep, then we tour Buenos Aires in the morning and board the cruise ship in the afternoon.
