What happened in-between the Old and New Testaments?

You might have noticed that the end of the Old Testament and the time of Jesus appear to be in almost completely different worlds, and since our Protestant Bibles do not cover history during this 400 year period, it is a time that many Christians have almost no knowledge about.

This period of time however can be incredibly influential to our understanding of the New Testament and brings an even greater significance to the arrival of Jesus. Below I have included two video recordings covering the Political History of Judea during this period, along with additional resources for understanding the culture surrounding Jesus and his disciples in the first century.
