Sydney!

Updated: Jul 6, 2019

Ok, to start with a little rant, 42 Wallaby Way Sydney does not exist. To this I am greatly disappointed because I did not get to meet the infamous P. Sherman at his dentist’s office. Thanks Disney.

Rant done.

We arrived in Sydney on Wednesday evening, and made our way to the local YWAM Base. I made an amazing friend, Tula, there and together he and the staff were incredibly hospitable and helpful during our stay!

On Thursday morning we took the ferry down to Sydney Harbour and spent nearly the whole day gazing upon the iconic Opera House and Harbour Bridge. If you ever find yourself in Sydney and want a good view of the Harbour and City scape I suggest using the public ferries that route out past the harbour. They’re much cheaper and in someways more effective than the tour boats. We then quickly visited Cockatoo Island before sunset, and returned to the Harbour to see the Opera House and Bridge lit up at night.

On Friday we ventured up to the Blue Mountains National Park to see the 3 Sisters rock formation and Wentworth Falls. The park alone is absolutely stunning  as you look out across the vast canyon full of steep cliffs, forests and accented with Mount Solitary in the middle. On our way back we came across a small park that was loaded with cockatoos that would come right up to you and eat from your hands. It amazes me how many tropical birds you can casually see here.

Our final stop was in Katoomba where my eyes were opened to a new level of delicious food. At Thunderbird restaurant I had a Pulled Pork-Chipolte-Mac &Cheese Burger and it may have been the best burger of my life. If you ever come across one, eat it without hesitation.

Today we depart Australia and make one more stop before returning to Canada. It’s been an amazing 6 months here in Australia and it breaks my heart to leave, hopefully I will return some day in the future.

Next Stop, Hawaii.
