Out of the Caves and into the Classroom

This Monday, July 3rd, we used our day off to do some exploring again, venturing to the Fairy Caves just outside Kuching. Easily the biggest caves I’ve been in to date and their movie/mystic appearance definitely shows me why they are called the Fairy Caves. Very beautiful place of you ever get the chance, definitely a great choice to unwind at the end of the week.

The rest of our week was filled with various mixed adventures. We predominantly focused on our work with Breakthrough’s “Hub” Youth Centre where we spent Tuesday and Thursday. The Hub is an amazing Centre that offers various study groups and activities for local youth, many from low income and single parent homes. On Wednesday we had the privilege of teaching English Classes for approximately 40 local youth. We had an amazing time getting to know the youth and staff there who are so full of passion for the work that they do! Truly inspiring!

We also worked a little more with the Mushroom Project this week in different stages of the process. Then on Friday we traveled with Pastor Roland to speak at a nearby village for the night.

Yet another week of adventure, ispiration and new friendships!
