Malaysia: Week 1

This week we had the privilege of volunteering with The Mushroom Project; a mushroom farm that seeks to economically empower marginalized and indigenous people group through fair employment. We helped in many stages of the process, and had the chance to build some really amazing friendships with the staff! Can’t wait to see and hear how this amazing project grows!

Later in the week we took part in an “international party” where locals from all over the world joined us for the evening to share each one’s unique foods and talents. With our group being asked to perform a song, dance and skit I found my self “playing” piano in public for the first time. Thankfully I feel our skit and Kortney’s dance we’re much better.

We ended that night with a lovely, nutritious snack of meal worms. Very tasty, kind of reminded me of pop corn, I would definitely eat them again! All in all a really amazing and fun night!

Then, this Sunday we had a great lunch where we had the opportunity to hang out with some new friends from EBC.

A great start to our time in Malaysia!
