Jonah - An Introduction to Inductive Study

Updated: Jul 18, 2019

This October I began leading a Bible Study with my home church, beginning with the book of Jonah. We used this opportunity to learn a more condensed version of Inductive study than what I learned during my time with YWAM, yet still incredibly insightful.

To do so we broke the study down into 5 main steps:

1. First Reading

2. Historical Background

3. Observation

4. Interpretation

5. Application

Throughout these teachings you will hear me explain these 5 Steps as we use the book of Jonah to exercise them. Enjoy!

Below are some resources I suggest if you would like to further your own inductive study of the Bible:

- “How to Read the Bible for All It's Worth” by Gordon D. Fee & Douglas Stewart

- Tyndale Bible Dictionary

- Nelson’s New Illustrated Bible Dictionary

- Holman Bible Dictionary
