With the Gathering over we took the opportunity today to visit Mesada and the Dead Sea on our way from Jerusalem to Nazareth.
The constant air pressure change is just as tedious as I remember it. The area around Mesada is far below sea level and then Mesada is 33m above sea level, add the constant changes in height due to a hilly and mountainous country, plus the fact that the Dead Sea is the lowest land point on earth, your ears are popping non stop.
Non the less, the sights are beautiful. Mesada is a true marvel that a fortress over 2000 years old can be in such good condition, even though it is kind of ruins. Mesada is also a truly impressive architectural feat for its time as the whole fortress was built into a mountain and had developed nearly self sufficient water sources.
The Dead Sea was unique as always, don’t typically get to float with such ease, plus you get a free mud bath with all the amazing nutrients and minerals to revive your skin. But let’s be honest, I simply just enjoyed playing in the mud.
Arrived in Nazareth in time for dinner and going to bed early to hopefully catch up on sleep.
