It has been another lovely week in the Land of Australia.
This week I had the chance to serve and help out in a variety of ways. On Maintenance I got to enjoy my natural habitat of tree maintenance, more specifically cutting them up. We also had our first maintenance crew road trip to pick up a few hundred pavers for future projects.
We also held our weekly “Sport in the Park” where we get the chance to meet with the surrounding community, play some games and eat food. Then, as a Beach to Bush class we had our community outreach on Friday night where we did some prayer walks and meeting with people in downtown Brisbane.
Wednesday was one of my highlights as we had a speaker come to speak on conflict in the Middle East from a more Christian perspective. I found it quite intriguing and it left me wondering if my time in the Middle East is actually over…
Today was beach day for the whole school, so we loaded up in buses and headed to Currimundi Beach for the day. This was a nice chance for me to finally get to see more of what Australia has to offer as I have only been able to go out once to explore so far, however I’m sure more is to come.
The Ocean here is phenomenal. The waves here are like nothing I’ve seen before, absolutely thrilling to swim in! Played some volleyball, took some photos and watched some skydiving. I do however, look like a tomato now. I consistently applied sun screen every 2 hours but there were a couple times where I’m guessing I didn’t wait long enough before going back in the water. As a result I am more burnt than I have ever been in my life. Welcome to the hole in the ozone.
I’m excited, as we will be hitting the road on Sunday for our first road trip as a Beach to Bush class. With that we’ll consistently on the road until June.
There is some big news come that I will share with you all as things are finalized in the week to come.
Until then, goodnight.
