MISSIONS
Over the years I have been blessed to be involved with several overseas missions with different organizations. These have included ministry and aid work in Jordan, Australia, Malaysia, Nepal, Mexico, Kenya and Thailand. Even with my overseas missions experiences, I am still a strong believer that we do not have to go to the other side of the world to be missional people. That is why I have also been, and continue to be involved in varying ministries and missions in my home Country of Canada as well.
YWAM
Most of the missions work that I have participated in since 2017 has been with an organization called YWAM (Why-Wam), which stands for Youth With A Mission. I began my time with YWAM by completing my DTS (Discipleship Training School) in Brisbane, Australia with outreach to Malaysia in 2017. Shortly after, in the fall of 2017 I would begin my SBS (School of Biblical Studies) in Vancouver, Canada, with outreach to Nepal.
Currently I serve with YWAM as Biblical Studies teacher at their Vancouver Base. After completing YWAM's School of Biblical Studies myself in 2018, Bible literacy was something that I continued to be passionate about and study further in my own time when I returned home. This eventually led to my return to Vancouver to be able to offer this same training to others who are also eager to learn what is actually in the Bible and what it is about.
Bible literacy is something that I continued to be passionate about and study further in my own time since completing my SBS. I believe Christians have a responsibility to read the Bible they claim to live by and study the historical context it was written in. This is necessary in order to build up the body of Christ, to hold ourselves accountable as Christians and in order to stand against those who choose to manipulate the Bible for their own selfish motives.
If you would like to follow my continuing journeys with YWAM, you can do so on my blog, and you can listen to my teachings that I make available on my teachings page.
Kenyan Education Project
The other area where I am currently involved in missions is the Kenyan Education Project that is orchestrated by my home church, London Christian Fellowship International. As a church, we support, in finances and prayer, the education of 8 children in Kenya . We believe that Education is one of the key contributing factors to ending a cycle of poverty. Education has the potential to improve the lives of the individual, and their communities as they use the skills they learn to help others and build the kingdom of God. This need was brought to our attention by our dear friend Joni, who was a missionary in Kenya for 10 years and has a strong relationship with the children and their families. I am a part of the team that oversees the fundraising and distribution of funds to Kenya, and communicates with our agent on the ground to ensure proper documentation is kept and to receive regular updates on the children and their needs.
